Occupancy Sensors
Occupancy sensors automatically turn lights on/off or bring lights to
high/low light output when motion in a room is detected. After the
space has been vacant for a period, which is set in the occupancy sensor,
the lights will go off or dim.
Photocell Controls
Photocell controls automatically adjust the lighting based on the amount
of daylight present and the setting. These controls can also be used for
lumen maintenance, allowing lamps to be dimmed when they are new,
which minimizes the wasteful effects of over-design. The power supplied is
gradually increased as the lamps age to compensate for light loss over time.
Wallbox Dimmers
Wallbox dimmers enable users to set the desired light level by manually
increasing or decreasing the light level by adjusting the slide. Slide and
preset dimmers take the place of a switch.
Wallbox/Occupancy Sensor Dimmers
Wallbox/occupancy sensor dimmers incorporate both technologies of a preset
dimmer and passive infrared occupancy sensor. A preset dimmer allows the
user to set the desired light level using a slider and turn the lights on and
off by flicking the switch.
Remote Controls
Dimming level and on/off can be controlled via handheld remote or
computer-based systems.
Architectural Controls
An architectural control is a programmable device with a bank of preset controls
allowing the user to have multiple lighting scenes by pressing a button.
Theatrical Controls
A theatrical control is a device similar to an architectural control, but on
a larger and more complex scale.
Building Lighting Control Systems
Building lighting control systems turn lamps on/off and control the dimming
level of the lighting system.
Building Automation Systems
Building automation systems turn lamps on/off and control the dimming
level of the lighting system, in addition to controlling the HVAC system.
System Control Module
A system control module is an interface within a building automation
system that turns lamps on/off and controls the dimming level of the
lighting system.
